light bulbs

i heard on 'the last word' that you have to be very careful with the eco bulbs as they contain a small bit of mercury, your local dump will have a bin to put them in.

They ran a show length feature on it on Ecoeye last week.

They do and a gas that's not the best for your either. If you break one it's recommended to open the window and leave the room right away. Leave it to clear and be careful with the bits. Don't want to get cut and get mercury in your skin or blood. I think its in a solid state lining the inside of the glass however. Still bring the broken bulb to the recycling centre as it's important that it be separated properly and not end up in land fill.

Same applies for strip lights and batteries. Don't break or bin either!
