Not completley from palletts, but 90% recycled materials. The palletts were used on the side cladding and front deck.

Knew there was something else. The wood pieces around the mirror are slats from pallets. Who needs Building Providers anyway lol.

They are wonderful! You are a pallet wizard! |

Fabulous! I am gobsmacked that it came from mostly recycled stuff. Great! |
started the workbench today and made four more flower boxes with the off cuts left over, will put up a photo when the bench is finished.
hoping to see more photos of other jumbletowners creations here soon. |
Rabbits

Hiya, don't forget, if you are gonna give it a bash, (and do, by all means), rabbits burrow, so you gota consider that when building runs etc for them :). Regards Bill |

Hi Garrazzaband Why do we scrub pallets with bleach and water before making furniture....I will, of course, do this but curious at to the reason:) Tks |
Quote:
I do this to clean the wood. It gets rids of any staining and unwanted marks and you generally end up with nicer cleaner looking wood to work with. Also I would argue that it sanitises the wood and kills any unwanted nasties that you might not see with the naked eye. You just never know what some of those pallets have been exposed to and you are bringing it into your home.!! Obviously if the wood is to be used outside this preparation is probably not needed. Ps make sure you dry it in a very flat position perhaps turning occasionally to avoid warping! Good luck with it. |
Brilliant thanks - thought the critters might have something to to with it:) I will let you know how I get on....looking forward to exploring the creative side!
|
One word....Fantastic!

I am seriously impressed with your skills. I think you would have to travel a real distance to be challenged in that! |
For Pallet Lovers
A nice idea here for a Pallet Garden! This is the link, and it has some other ingenious and frugal ideas for balcony living. Hope you like:

Wow! Thanks TickTock, great link, what a brilliant idea x
|
Glad you like. So many people here have worked miracles with pallets I hoped it would be of interest. Not so much to me though as I've a big garden, but it could still be used for herbs if I ever run out of space!
|
That's brilliant I would've loved one of those when I lived in my flat!!!really great idea :)
|
Here is another idea for pallets. As I said before we are useless at diy in our house, so I leave the ideas to those with talent, but I thought you might like this. If it has been on here before, apologies.

Pallets
I'm absolutely amazed at how inventive all you "palleteers" are! Think I've caught the bug, have start scouring around to see if I can find some:)

That's a great title, "palleteers"! A bit like Muskateers, but dunno what you could make with a "musk"!! :-) |

Lol maybe some "musk-ito" nets! |
Great idea! :-)

Well done so far.

How did you join the pallets together? |

Here's a few more pictures of the recent progress.
Pallets are joined together at the base and sides with screws and using 2 pallet planks to join them vertically and horizontally to the next ones. Makes for a pretty solid structure and the cladding (outside and inside) will reinforce it further. |
OMg
That is unbelievably wonderful, it reminds me of the house James May built out of lego, that is one epic project though which I don't think I would be able to master alone! Any updates now?
I cannot believe how much space there is inside. And a great way to re use those old election posters I see!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! |
Building a pallet shed
we are hoping to build an 8'x10' pallet shed. not sure where to begin though has anyone any advice or plans they used?

Loud, there's a website with lots of pictures of various projects: http://summerville-novascotia.com/PalletShed/
no plans really but the photos are explicit enough. that's how I built mine. I neglected this project for a while, but finally managed to put the roof structure down. I got reclaimed leftover pieces of 2x3 and 2x6 from a building site. |

more progress on this.
I finally made a wee article about it on my blog too. http://olivierlonguet.blogspot.ie/20...t-pallets.html |
So Tell Me...
Wow! This is amazing!
But I have a question, can you advise me where to go to get pallets (I don't mind paying ) as I cannot seem to find anybody who will tell me and I am going nuts trying to locate a few!!!! Big Thank You in anticipation of a solution for my problem ;) .... |
I've seen them behind industrial/commercial premises in their incoming/despatch departments. If you see any near commercial companies just knock on their door and they might be glad to be rid of them. The worst that can happen is they say no. Otherwise, they can turn up in skips but you need to keep your eyes peeled.
