Deleted photos?

Hi Chris and dave,
I was cleaning up my old items on my pc and deleted some photos of things that I have given away on JT...I also deleted some photos that I used on two seperate repurposed threads in your before and after section, and the photo's have dissapeared from there also.... http://www.jumbletown.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=33268 http://www.jumbletown.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=37560 why is this happening? I'm not the best at the auld computer jargon but can you explain? Regards The Mammy |

Even if you deleted them from your own computer, they should remain on JumbleTown. My guess is that the photos that disappeared from your ads/threads were never directly uploaded onto JumbleTown in the first place, but rather hosted by another site such as Flickr et al and with a link to them on your thread/post. These photos may have an expiry date etc., and spring-cleaning your computer may also have a bearing on their fate. Still confused

I'm still confused...usually I upload my photo's directly to JT...from my pc ,( photos taken on my digital camera, saved in my ''JT photo's''...''my pictures'' in ''my documents''.)..any other photo's like the cartoon above i ''save as'' my jumbletown photo's file on my computer ......This was the only pic that I ever posted that appeared as a link( before I presume you fixed it?)
can you tell if my other photo's were or were not directly up loaded to JT? I know.... I'm going to attach a photo now,( something i gave away previously on jt) and in about 10 min's i'll delete it from my computer and see if it dissapears..... mmmmmm......... Cheers The Mammy |

Hi The Mammy,
I still think the explanation is to be found in my earlier comments. There is no history of photos disappearing from JT other than those removed by Members or Admin. By the way, I added the picture of the "Lady at Computer" in your initial post (above) after you uploaded the link to the picture itself, which didn't show up. Regards Chris P Admin |
