Hi delilah,
Only Reserved or Taken ads should be closed/locked.
Members who come across Available ads that are closed should report the ad to Admin by clicking the red & white triangular icon (the "Report Bad Post" button) at the bottom left hand side of the post/ad in question.
Sometimes Members accidentally lock their ads or else do so instead of marking the item as Reserved or Taken.
