Reusing reading glasses and distance glasses
Hi - looking for any concrete suggestions as to where spectacles can be recycled. I have accumulated many over the years and really don't want to throw them out if they can be used somewhere. Thanks.

Old Glasses
Opticians in Cavan Town collects them and they are sent abroad. I always leave
any old ones to them. |

My local Specsavers have a box that takes them.
I'm sure all their shops do it. |

Recycling Glasses
Quote:
Hi Morissey, Definitely Specsavers. Each shop has a collection box. These glasses are collected, measured and re-dispensed by charities in developing countries where they are often the only glasses available to very poor people. If you use glasses you know what that means. |
