What to do with loads of medals???
My kids have won loads of medals for Irish Dancing, Karate, Running etc
My problem is what to do with them. I have bought some plaques to display them but these are expensive to buy at €40 each. I don't want to belittle their achievements by shoving them in a drawer but don't want to clutter the house either..... :-/ Anybody got any interesting or quirky ideas please?? I need some inspiration in a hurry! |

medals
What about a notice board with this years winnings on it. You could put up medals or certs with drawing pins or sewing pins. Put a little sticker on the back of each with date and event and winner on it so you know what's what. At the top you could put a card/computer printout with 'Our Winnings/Achievements etc 2011 and at the end of the year pack them away in each childs 'memory box' with school reports, first drawings, first teeth etc. That way you don't belittle their achievements and yet don't have to have them permanently gathering dust. Hopefully all your children have something to display so no-one feels left out.

Problem is as I found, all these medals can be dust collectors and you have to keep passing the feather duster over 'em. But this idea
http://www.travel-golf.org/how_to_di...ary_medals.htm shows a picture frame which its encased behind glass. You might be able to pick up some old large size picture frames here on JT. Or maybe a large cork notice board, but that wouldn't be enclosed against dust. We have ours in a glass display cabinet and I keep putting off the dusting routine. |
