Make your own Oat milk
In case you are self isolating or afraid to go to the shops. I made Oat milk yesterday.
3 cups of water 1 cup of porridge oats. Put into a blender/smoothie maker and blitz till smooth. Put a sieve over a bowl, put a piece of muslin or a clean tea towel or other clean fabric in the sieve and pour in the mixture. The liquid drains into the bowl and very fine oatmeal is left behind. Bottle the oat milk and store in the fridge. Use as ordinary milk. The fine oatmeal can be added to porridge, soup, omelette, or any baking. I usually have almond milk on my cereal but tried this this morning and was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious. I think I will continue making it when the health scare is over. Beats spending €2.50 on a litre of almond milk. |
